Ripened Pu-erh cakes are made of tea leaves that have gone through a speed fermentation process called Ou-Dui (渥堆), a technique to pile up the Mao-Cha (green tea leaves), sprinkled with water and turned regularly to achieve an organisms faciliated oxidisation/fermentation.
The fermented tea leaves are then compressed into cakes for the purpose of facilitating post fermentation, storage and transportation.
The ripened Pu-erh teas are known to be gentle, smooth with special functions to aid digestion and weight loss in addition to many other tea related health benefits.
