Cha Dao
Cha Dao is set of tools commonly used in a Gong-Fu tea section. The tools are traditionally made of wood or bamboo, and the holder could be in wood, bamboo, ceramic or clay.
Cha Dao components
The every day Cha Dao is composed by the following:
- A holder - the 'tool box'
- a tea scoop - to measure and scoop up the adequate amount of the dry leaves from a tea container for one section of Gong-Fu tea
- a tea rake - used to remove the spent tea leaves from a tea vessel
- a tea pin - to remove the tea leaves that blocks the inbuilt strainer of a teapot
- a pair of forceps for handling the hot tea cups
- and a tea funnel - to facilitate adding tea leaves to a vessel with small opening
Cha Dao is a set of tools, now also used to represent a tea philosophy, making tea with mind, body and skills for the result of the quality.
